Traditional and Digital Photography
The Fullerton Union High School Photography Program provides the student with a solid foundation in the basic, intermediate and advanced level of traditional and digital photography. Photography students explore the power of light and how it is used in the medium of photography to create artwork that not only moves the observer but has the potential to bring about social change. The objective is to develop student interest, skills and technical ability in the field of photography whether they wish to transition to a college or art institution, enter the photography job market directly, or simply wish to enrich his or her adult life with the arts.
Students in the photography program as a part of the Academy of the Arts will participate in the creation of a portfolio for college entrance or the job market. This portfolio will also serve as a platform for growth as an artist and future artistic endeavors. Upon the completion on this pathway, students will have completed an AP or IB portfolio.
The Fullerton Union High School Visual Arts Program helps provide a student-artist with a strong foundation in a variety of areas important to the visual arts including composition, two and hree dimensional design, color theory as well as a variety of media including pencil, pen, charcoal, ink wash & watercolor, and acrylics at the basic, intermediate and advanced skill level. Additionally, students incorporate digital technologies including digital photography and digital image manipulation. Our goal is to develop student interest, skills and technical ability in the visual arts whether they wish to transition to a college or art institution, or simply wish to enrich their adult lives through the arts.
