American Sign Language - UC/CSU "E" Approved for Language Other than English
American Sign Language 1, 2, 3
AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE (ASL) 1
The student will learn the art of silent speaking with American Sign Language (ASL). The student will learn the basic signs for letters of the alphabet, numbers, words, and short phrases. Students will practice performing dialogues using just their hands to communicate. Students gain an appreciation and understanding of the Deaf culture and the community in the first year of this two-year program. This course meets the UC Language other than English (‘e”) requirement for admission.
AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE (ASL) 2
While reviewing skills learned in ASL 1, students proceed to acquire skills in ASL lexicon, grammar and syntax. Students gain additional knowledge and understanding of the Deaf culture and the community. This course examines interpreting as a career option, and covers national test taking skills. This course meets the UC Language other than English (‘e”) requirement for admission.
AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE (ASL) 3
This course expands the emphasis on ASL grammatical features, the ability to demonstrate abstract ideas and concepts, vocabulary development, Deaf culture, interpreting as a career option, and certification requirements. Advanced application in dialogue, short stories, narratives, and short conversation, both receptive and expressive, will be featured throughout the course. In addition to written assignments, students are also required to attend three Deaf events, and turn in lab activities. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate the skills necessary for entry-level employment. This course meets the UC Language other than English (‘e”) requirement for admission.

Auto Body Repair - UC/CSU "G" Approved College Prep Elective for Auto Body Repair, Adv. Auto Body Repair and Auto Repair Technician
Intro to Auto Body Repair, Auto Body Repair, Advanced Auto Body Repair, and Auto Repair Technician
INTRODUCTION TO AUTO BODY REPAIR
Introduction to Auto Body Repair trains students to repair and refinish automotive vehicle bodies and operate or tend painting machines to paint surfaces of transportation equipment. Students learn industry specific terminology, the identification and safe use of tools and equipment, the basics of how to analyze auto damage and estimate repairs, and painting of automobile bodies.
AUTO BODY REPAIR
ROP Auto Body Repair provides instruction in straightening, welding, forming, filling, masking, grinding, sanding, buffing, and painting automobile bodies. Students must provide personal project and materials. Articulates with Cypress College. This course meets the UC College Prep Elective (‘g”) requirement for admission.
ADVANCED AUTO BODY REPAIR
Advanced Auto Body Repair trains students to repair and refinish automotive vehicle bodies. Students learn industry specific terminology; the identification and safe use of tools and equipment; the basics of how to analyze non-structural auto damage and estimate repairs; straightening, welding, forming, filling, and sanding of automobile bodies; and repair, replacement, and/or adjustment of parts. This course meets the UC College Prep Elective (‘g”) requirement for admission.
Auto Body Repair Technician
Auto Body Repair Technician trains students to repair and refinish automotive vehicle bodies and replace or repair broken windshields and window glass in motor vehicles. Students learn industry specific terminology; the identification and safe use of tools and equipment; analysis and estimation of auto damage and repairs; glass repair and replacement; welding, forming, filling, sanding of automobile bodies; and use of adhesives and plastics in auto body repair. This course meets the UC College Prep Elective (‘g”) requirement for admission.

- Classes are free of charge to all students.
- Offers hands-on training to develop marketable skills and to encourage good work attitudes.
- Students can earn elective credits by taking a ROP class during regular school day and/or after school.
- Students who take ROP classes attain entry-level job skills, prepare for well-paying careers, and prepare for advanced career training.
