ROP at SOHS
  • The Regional Occupational Program (ROP) is free to all high school students and offers hands-on training to develop marketable skills and to encourage good work attitudes. Students can earn elective credits by taking an ROP class during the regular school day and/or after school and certain ROP classes can fulfill the UC-approved a-g list. Students who take ROP classes attain entry-level job skills, prepare for well-paying careers, and prepare for advanced career training.

    Sonora’s ROP (On-Campus) Pathways include: 

    Food Service and Hospitality Pathway

    • Intro to Culinary Arts (Year 1) 
    • Culinary Catering (Year 2) 
    • Culinary Management (Year3)

    Patient Care Pathway

    • Body Systems and Disorders
    • Medical Assistant Clinical and Administrative

     

    How to sign up for ROP Regional Classes (Off-Campus) 

    Summer 2025 & Fall 2025-2026 Off-Campus ROP (Regional) Classes 

    *Online Application Opens February 11th, 2025

    STEP 1 - Review the 2025/2026 ROP After School Schedule and Select the class you are interested in taking. Be mindful of class prerequisites and requirements.

    Do the following steps to register (DEADLINE: FRIDAY, APRIL 11th)

    The deadline to submit the ROP Summer School Student Pre-Registration Form is April 11th, 2024. 

    Late applications for Summer ONLY will be accepted; however, these students will be placed on a waiting list and only contacted if space becomes available. 

    **Note: Please be mindful if you are taking Sonora High School Summer School as the dates could overlap, and you cannot do both at the same time. 

    Additional Information

    Submitting an online pre-registration request does not guarantee enrollment into the course. 

    ROP will email parents/guardians and students of their status on or before Monday, May 6th for both Summer and Fall classes.

    Students must be available for the entire course schedule. ROP will not make accommodations for personal schedules that interfere with class times. 

    Students must have  transportation to attend and exit class on time. NOCROP and its partner district cannot provide transportation.

    ROP may cancel a course offering at any time.
