Here at Sonora we have a daily intervention built right into our schedule where students can meet with their teachers to get help, catch up on missed work, make up assessments, and so much more. This is a 24 minute tutorial period that happens right after 2nd period, and we call it Raider Revolution (RR.)
RR is required for all Freshman, all Sophomores, and any Juniors/Seniors who earned 2+D’s or 1+ F in the previous grading period. If a student has been assigned to RR they will see it as Period 8 and it will say R2 Academ Tutor:
While on a student’s schedule they will see the name Eaves, K and a room number, this is NOT where the student must report after 2nd period. Instead student’s decide which teacher they would like to see and go directly to that classroom for RR.
Students will use the 5 Star app on their phones or through their chromebooks to sign up for classes. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to do this. Students need to sign up for a RR class for each day. They can choose the same class everyday, different classes every day, or a combination of the two. Students are able to sign up for the upcoming week starting on Saturday, and sign ups can be changed at any time throughout the week.
Directly after 2nd period students report to the class they signed up for and must check in. In the teachers classroom they will either have a QR code the student can scan through the app if using their phone, or they will have a chromebook the student can enter their long ID numbers through. If the student gets an error or doesn’t check in properly or at all, they will be marked absent. It is imperative that the student successfully checks in and if they have any issues they should immediately talk to the teacher to resolve it.
If a student hasn’t signed up for a teacher's RR class they will not be able to attend that RR. If a student waits and all of their teachers' RR classes are full they will need to pick another teacher’s room to attend, even if they do not have that teacher.
On Thursdays, all Freshmen and some select other students may be assigned to a specific class. The students will see this on 5 Star and will be unable to change this sign up. The student MUST attend this class on that day, they will not be able to check in anywhere else.

If a student needs any assistance using 5 star or has any questions they are encouraged to talk to any of their teachers or see Mr. Eaves in room 403 before school.
