• Principal's Message

Welcome to Fullerton Union High School!  I am Laura Rubio and I am the proud principal of Fullerton Union High School.

I am very proud and honored to be part of this great school community. I have been in education for over 21 years, all at the high school level.  Over 13 of those years have been in administration. I came to the school district 8 years ago into La Habra High School and then Troy High School, from which I was then given the opportunity to serve as Fullerton’s new principal during the 2017-18 school year.  I have found that this is a school rich in tradition and rich in programs and opportunities for our students. It is very much embedded in the culture of the city of Fullerton.  It is definitely known as a legacy school due to the many generations that have graced our halls with wonderful memories.

We have a rich tradition of academic, athletic and co-curricular success. It is this commitment to learning that has propelled us to a national ranking in the top 5% of high schools in US News and World Report.  FUHS offers a variety of programs not only so students can apply their learning but also so that every student can find their passion and find a place to call their own.  There is so much to choose from because our course offerings are as diverse as our student body and represent what is best in schools today.

All of our programs have been created to support students in their readiness for college and career which is evidenced by the number of graduates who are accepted to postsecondary education and excel in their careers after graduation.  I am very proud to be principal of this great high school and hope to continue to lead and support our students and staff successfully.

During this very tumultuous time, we want our community to know that we are doing our best to reach our students on every level and adapt the best we can to our current situation.  Our school district has done an amazing job in keeping up with technology over the last few years which has then enabled us to make a relatively easy transition to online learning.  I have full confidence that our teachers are more than capable and are up for the challenge.  Our goals include keeping our staff and students safe during this time.  This is at the forefront of all of our planning process as we prepare to begin the school year and be ready to physically reopen when we can get into the next phase. Thank you for all of your patience and support during this time.

Make sure to stay connected with us through our social media platforms as well as our website.
