Independent Study: Non-Grad/Pink Card Program Description and Enrollment Information

  • La Sierra High School will provide Independent Study Summer School for the non-graduating seniors of the Class of 2022. Summer school at LSHS Independent Study will run from June 6 to July 14, 2022, and appointments will be Monday through Thursday from 7:45 am to 1:00 pm. There are two programs available.

    1. The “Pink Card” Program - current seniors who are unable to graduate with their class and need 10 credits or less to earn their diploma. 
    2. The Non-Grad Program - current seniors who need more than 10 credits to earn their diploma.

    PINK CARD PROGRAM:  Students who earn the necessary credits during the summer school session will be eligible to receive their comprehensive high school diploma for the Class of 2022. *Students must complete and turn in all coursework before July 14, 2022 to be eligible for the diploma.

    PINK CARD ENROLLMENT:

    • The comprehensive high school counselor should provide each non-graduating senior with the La Sierra High School Independent Study Summer School Enrollment information and forms. 
    • Parents or adult students will receive an email from Docusign to complete paperwork electronically. 
    • Ms. Clementir, LSHS teacher, will send out a meeting invitation for June 6, 2022 to enrolled students (through their district email) to review procedures and develop a plan to complete the necessary coursework/credits.

    NON GRAD PROGRAM:  For students who need more than 10 credits, they will be able to enroll at La Sierra High School in the iSierra Independent Study Program. Students must enroll for the fall semester (August 2022), maintain continuous enrollment, and make appropriate progress in the program. Upon completion of the required coursework/credits, students will then receive a La Sierra High School Diploma dated June, 2023.

    NON GRAD PROGRAM ENROLLMENT:

    • Student/Parent will receive an email for an Independent Study Summer School Registration Form, followed by an email from Docusign with the Master Agreement to sign electronically.
    • An assigned LSHS Independent Study teacher, Mrs. Villegas, will send out a meeting invitation for June 6th, 2022 to enrolled students (through their district email) to set up an appointment to complete orientation/review procedures and develop a plan to complete the necessary coursework/credits. 

    If you think your student should be in one of these programs and you haven’t received any notification/confirmation regarding enrollment, please contact your student’s counselor before June 2nd.

    After June 2nd, please contact the LSHS Summer School Principal, Mr. Carr, at 714-447-5504.

    *Students who are unable to complete their required coursework/credits may continue at the iSierra Online Academy in the fall. Students must enroll for the fall semester (August 2022), maintain continuous enrollment, and make appropriate progress in the program. Upon completion of the required coursework/credits, students will then receive a La Sierra High School Diploma dated June, 2023.
