iSierra Online Academy - General Information

  • Thank you for your interest in iSierra Online Academy's Summer Independent Study Program.

iSierra offers an experience in which students work on their course(s) completely online. Independent Study students meet with their assigned Supervising/Course Teacher once per week in a virtual classroom, such as Zoom or Google Meet, for a required progress check and to take unit tests in a supervised/proctored environment.

Upon enrollment into our program, students complete a virtual orientation which shows them how to complete and submit coursework in our learning management system, Apex.  Students work on, complete, and submit their coursework electronically from home, or anywhere they have an internet connection.

Students must be caught up with their assignment due dates in their course(s) each week to earn attendance/remain in the program. This will take approximately 5 hours per day, 4 days per week to accomplish.

     Please note:

    • The summer session runs for 6 weeks, and students can earn a maximum of 15 credits during this time.

    • Once students have earned all of their desired/assigned credits, they are done with summer school.

    • The summer session is from Monday, June 2nd to Thursday, July 10th.  There is a holiday on Thursday, June 19th.

    • Students will be assigned a regular weekly appointment: Mon, Tues, Wed, or Th, between 8:00 am and 11:40 am.

To enroll in the iSierra Online Academy's summer session, you must be referred to one of the three categories below.

    • If you are in category 1 and have not been referred or are not sure, please speak with your Supervising Teacher.

    • If you are in category 2 or 3 and have not been referred, or are unsure, please contact your school counselor up until May 29th. After May 29th, contact Ms. Renee Gates (rgates@fjuhsd.org/ 714-447-5503).

    • If you are an 8th grade student and/or from a school outside the Fullerton Joint Union High School District, or none of these categories apply, but you wish to discuss enrollment, please contact Ms. Renee Gates (rgates@fjuhsd.org)/714.447.5503 for assistance.

    Thank you.
