    The Common Core State Standards provide an understanding of what students are expected to learn.  The standards are designed to be relevant to the real world, reflecting the knowledge and skills students need to know to succeed in college and the workplace.

    Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium is one of two multistate consortia awarded funding from the U.S. Department of Education to develop an assessment system based on the new Common Core State Standards.  A Summary of Core Components, Computer Adaptive Testing, Smarter Balanced and Higher Education: Preparing Young People for Postsecondary Success, and Smarter Balanced and Teachers: Supporting Student Achievement Through Meaningful Feedback files have been attached for your convenience.

    In addition, the P21 Common Core Toolkit, CCSS for Mathematics, and CCSS for Mathematics Appendix A have also been attached.
