Ms. Daphne Sloggett

My life mission is to increase student learning. Ensuring students have capacity, authority and responsibility in their own learning process are the underpinnings of my vision. As a 30 year veteran, I have worked alongside the dedicated staff of LVLS as an Opportunity teacher, EL teacher, Social Science teacher, site lead, department chair, Student Intervention Liaison, and more recently as the Assistant Principal of Student Services / Activities. My local education trained and prepared me for this work. As a graduate of Troy High school, UCLA, and Cal State Fullerton I have benefitted from the doors education has opened for me.

Working at LVLS allows me to share the benefits I have reaped with others. Students arrive at LVLS often feeling like they lack the ability to learn or have lost the motivation and energy to tackle new things. Re-engaging students, building confidence, and watching students succeed is gratifying work. I can’t imagine working with any other student group and being as fulfilled. I believe every student can walk out the doors of LVLS knowing more than when they walked in.
