Mr. Fred Carr
Hello Lions! It is a privilege to work with you all at La Vista and La Sierra High Schools. Originally from the San Francisco bay area, I moved to Los Angeles for college. I attended Loyola Marymount University (Go Lions!) where I majored in natural science and minored in secondary education. I enjoyed LMU so much that I decided to stay for graduate school. Two years after earning my bachelors, I completed my masters in education with a concentration in administration and policy. Prior to joining the LVLS team, I worked for the Alliance College-Ready Public Charter School network in south Los Angeles for nine years. I began as a science teacher, teaching general and AP biology. I also served as the 9th grade chair, science department chair and director of instruction. Although my role has changed over the years, my dedication to serving the needs of students has remained steadfast. My wife Desirée and I moved to Orange to beat the traffic. Every day I wake up with joy and excitement to have a chance to positively impact a student or teacher. Serving as an additional caring adult only adds to the support we are able to offer. Like many students, our students need to feel supported and cared for to be successful. I am proud of the supportive relationships our staff have been able to foster with our students. On the weekends, you can find me watching sports, hiking, working on my horrible golf swing or playing with my toy poodle, Honey. If you would like to discuss why the Golden State Warriors were a great team even before Steph Curry or how the San Francisco 49ers are going to the Superbowl, I am your guy. Or if you just want to stop by to say hello. Let’s make this year the best year yet!
