Walk-on Coaches

If you are interested in coaching for a FJUHSD High School, please visit the school website to find contact information for the school's Athletic Director.
The Fullerton Joint Union High School District recognizes that extra-curricular activities are an important component of the education experience for students. In order to provide students with these opportunities, FJUHSD understands that hiring interested, talented and qualified employees only enhances this experience. Candidates recommended by school sites for classified walk-on coaching or co-curricular assignment will be required to submit the following, along with completing the employment paperwork which will be disseminated in Human Resources. Human Resources will contact the coaching candidate to set up an appointment once the hiring recommendation has been received from the campus. Coaches must then complete the following items:
- Obtain Fingerprint clearance.
- Submit a copy of a negative Mantoux TB test taken within the last sixty (60) days. If you have worked in another school district and the TB test is valid (taken within the last two years), it will be accepted.
- Submit two forms of personal identification (i.e., Social Security Card and California Driver's License, California I.D. Card, or Passport). Present original documents when you turn in paperwork.
- Submit proof of your current infant, child, and adult First Aid/CPR/AED, Title V Certification, and CIF-NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, Heat, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Concussion, Cheer/Dance (if applicable), and Water Safety (if applicable) Certificates via CIF Home Campus, Links are listed at the bottom of this page.
If you are interested in coaching, please see the campus AD or AP/SA to start the process. Once the proper steps have been completed, you will be contacted by Human Resources for paperwork and to receive the Live Scan form for fingerprint clearance.
Once your paperwork is complete, the Assistant Principal will contact you to begin working in your assignment. No one may begin an assignment prior to receiving approval from the school AP/SA. Your prompt attention to these requirements will help you get into the assignment as soon as possible.Title V Sign-up Form/Schedule of Classes

You must complete the trainings and keep a copy (PDF or JPG) of your certificates prior to submitting the form. Once you are on the CIF Home Campus website, select the name of the school where you coach to upload your certifications. Coaches are expected to remain up to date and renew certifications before they expire.
