At Cox Communications, we understand the importance of students having home internet connectivity and a reliable device. That's why we will continue to offer Connect2Compete (C2C) at $9.95/month for families with students in grades K-12, and we also offer ConnectAssist (CA), low cost ($30/month) internet for eligible households without kids. Both options offer speeds of up to 100 Mbps. This ensures that households will have affordable, reliable, fast internet. Most importantly we are very excited to participate in the federal government's Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). You might be aware of this FCC benefit, which provides those who qualify with a $30/month broadband credit. If a family or individual qualifies for one of our low-cost internet programs, like C2C or ConnectAssist, they will likely also qualify for the ACP, which in many cases means they can receive free internet.
I am also excited the share that Cox is one of the only internet service providers also participating in the program's device discount. If a family that signs up for ACP needs a device, they can receive a $100 credit for one. This is an amazing benefit that the government is offering to help families in need get connected!
More than 60% of those who are eligible for ACP in Orange County still have not signed up for this benefit.
