Kpop, BTS, the Squid Game, Korean Food, HanRyu, Ji-Young, and a new Korean American muppet character on Sesame Street are all evidence of Korea’s impact throughout the world. UNESCO honors King Sejong, who created the Korean Alphabet, which is called HanGeul. HanGeul’s simple, unique, scientific, and phonetic language is continuously becoming popular. At Sunny Hills, we offer Korean 1, 2, 3, 4 IB, and 5 IB (SL/HL1/HL2). Students will be able to speak, read, listen, and write while participating actively in daily activities and project-based learning to enhance their language acquisition. Additionally, there is a very active and involved Korean Culture Club where students are given more opportunities to explore Korean culture as well as the language both academically and socially.
