English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) is an opportunity for parents and families of English Learners to become more connected and involved in their students’ educational experience at Sonora High School.

Through ELAC, families have a voice in important schoolwide conversations, including the needs assessment for English Learners, student attendance, and the development of programs and services that support English Learner success. ELAC members also provide input and advice to school administration regarding the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and help identify ways Sonora can continue to support the academic, college, and career goals of English Learners.

Throughout the year, ELAC meetings also provide families with helpful information about how students are taught, assessed, and monitored, as well as resources related to college applications, scholarships, financial aid, community resources, and opportunities available to students and families.

We welcome and encourage all parents and guardians of English Learners to participate. Your voice, experiences, and partnership help us strengthen the support we provide to our students and families.
