Dear Raiders,

We are excited to welcome our students and families to Sonora High School’s Back to School Night Block Party tomorrow, Thursday, August 27! This year, we are introducing a new format designed to bring our Raider community together for an evening of connection, celebration, and fun.

🎉 5:00 PM – Block Party Begins!
Join us in front of Sonora for food trucks, music, games, and more before the evening’s scheduled events begin. Please take a look at the food truck menus below.

📣 6:00 PM – Welcome Ceremony | SMALL GYM
Please join us in the SMALL GYM for a special welcome as we kick off the evening together.

👋 6:15–8:00 PM – Meet Your Teachers & Explore Sonora
Families will have opportunities to connect with teachers at department tables in the Student Union and visit classrooms during scheduled classroom visit times. Classroom visits will begin at 6:15 PM, with each department assigned a specific time block.

📅 New! Student Schedule with Classroom Visit Times
To help families plan their evening, we have added a student schedule showing the classroom visit time blocks. We encourage you to review your student’s schedule before the event and plan which classrooms you would like to visit.

If your student has multiple classes scheduled during the same classroom visit block, don’t worry! You can visit one teacher in their classroom and connect with the other teacher later in the evening at their department table in the Student Union.

For example, if your student has AVID and PE during the first classroom visit block, you can visit one classroom during that block and connect with the other teacher later in the evening at the department table. Families can choose what works best for them—visit teachers in their classrooms during their designated time or connect with them at the Student Union throughout the evening.

We can’t wait to open our doors and celebrate the start of another great year with our Raiders and Raider families! Thank you for being such an important part of our Sonora community.
