    About Mr. Garcia

    Mr Garcia was appointed Principal of La Habra HS in June of 2022. 

    Originally from Hacienda Heights, Mr. Garcia served as an Assistant Principal at Fullerton Union High School since 2015, most recently as the Assistant Principal of Instruction and Operations. In six years as part of the Tribe, Mr. Garcia served the FUHS community in multiple capacities as Assistant Principal and has provided oversight on the site budget, master schedule, special education, athletics, activities, student discipline, School Site Council, ELAC, and professional development for staff.
     
    In addition to his experience at FJUHSD, Mr. Garcia served as the Assistant Principal at Sierra Vista Middle School (SVMS) in the Hacienda-La Puente Unified School District from 2012-2015. During his time at SVMS, the school was recognized as a California Gold Ribbon School (2015), a Title I Academic Achievement Award School (2015), and was recognized by the California Business for Education Excellence (2013) for raising student academic achievement. 
     
    Prior to becoming a school administrator, Mr. Garcia was a social science instructor at Orange Grove Middle School (2001-2003) and Los Altos High School (2003-2012), and also served as Department Chair, ASB Director of Activities, and Athletic Director. 
     
    Mr. Garcia earned his Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies from UCLA (2000), a Masters in Education from Whittier College (2010), and Administrative Services Credential from Cal Poly Pomona (2008), and the University of La Verne (2018). Raised by immigrant parents who emphasized education, Mr. Garcia and his three sisters earned college degrees which resulted in a "House Divided" (three UCLA Bruins and one USC Trojan). Mr Garcia and his wife reside in West Covina with their two children.
