Emergency Rental Assistance Program
The County of Orange was allocated $65,576,556 from the U.S. Department of the Treasury for the implementation of the Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) Program. The ERA Program provides funding to assist households that are unable to pay rent and utilities due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The ERA Program must largely be used for direct financial assistance, including rent, rental arrears and utilities and home energy costs. The cities of Anaheim, Santa Ana and Irvine received direct allocations from the Treasury and will be implementing their own programs.
1. Qualified for unemployment or has experienced a reduction in household income, incurred significant costs, or experienced a financial hardship due to COVID-19
Eligible Households for ERA Program assistance are defined as a renter household in which at least one or more individuals meets the following criteria:
